It's Pumpkin Season, Baby!

Oh, hello Autumn!

It is finally that time of year!

As Halloween is only a few days away, I am as excited as ever for Autumn! These last few years, pumpkin picking has been all the craze - and I've definitely jumped on the bandwagon!

That being said, I have a confession to make. I don't like Halloween! Or pumpkins! It's too spooky for me, and pumpkins have a really peculiar smell!

Usually, I visit either Avon Valley Adventure & Wildlife Park or Farrington's Farm, both located on the outskirts of Bristol and Bath.

So, why must I christen the season by doing an annual pumpkin pick?

The Aesthetic

We all know how lush our Instagram timelines have been looking lately, scrolling through countless photos of pumpkins.

Anybody that knows me knows that I am all about the aesthetic. Autumn certainly is one of the most beautiful times of the year, which is one of the reasons why it's my favourite season!

Nothing compares to the autumnal colour palette, does it?

Here is a lil roundup of creators whose feeds I've been loving this Autumn!

It's Kinda Hygge

Truly, nothing is cosier than putting on a pair of cosy outdoor boots and spending a crisp Autumn afternoon strolling around a pumpkin patch. Every year I put on my favourite boot socks, a pair of fingerless gloves and a bobble hat and I feel in my element.

Although most might associate hygge with being indoors, I often find that I feel most hygge when I am outdoors. I think a lot about harvest season during this time of year, and maybe it's the memories of celebrating harvest festival at church or how I'm nowadays playing Stardew Valley every once in a while - but I absolutely love an Autumnal atmosphere.

We Need Outdoor Fun More than Ever

It goes without saying - this year has been pretty tough. We've spent a lot of time indoors, which can have an effect on our physical and mental health.

Especially being it was as difficult as it's ever been to have an enjoyable summer, it is important that we make the most of this Autumn. Even if you're more of a fun-in-the-sun sort of person, there's plenty of things to do and explore in the Autumn - make the most of the cosy season!

Until winter comes, let's make the most of Autumn. I hope everybody has been staying safe, spending time with loved ones and trying to make the most out of 2020!

In the meantime, it is important that we remember to take care of ourselves - no matter what challenges we have had to face this year. Part of that, for me, is spending time outside and around nature.

It's truly refreshing being able to have a quiet moment out in the countryside, having the chance to be distracted from the current world - even if it's just for a little while.

Have a happy and hygge Halloween,

Eliza x
